Privacy notice.

What this website collects, who receives it, and how to reach us about it.

Scope

This notice covers this website only. It does not cover advertising campaigns or intake services that MISCHEIA operates for law firm clients.

This website is for law firms and legal professionals. It is not directed to consumers or claimants, and it is not directed to children.

Who we are

This website is operated by MISCHEIA, a California limited liability company.
Our postal address is shown when JavaScript is enabled.

You can reach us about this notice by post at the address above, or through the contact page.

What we collect

Inquiry details. When you send the contact form we receive what you enter: your name, your firm or organization, your email address, your phone number if you give one, and your message.

Technical data. When the contact page loads, the spam check receives your IP address and browser information. Our hosting provider processes IP addresses and request data in order to deliver the site.

We do not set cookies, we do not run advertising or tracking pixels on this website, and we do not currently run analytics on it. The site has no accounts or logins.

How we use it

We use inquiry details to reply to you, to assess whether an engagement is a fit, and to keep a record of our correspondence. We use technical data to keep the form free of automated submissions and to keep the site running.

We do not use inquiry details for advertising, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

Service providers that receive it

Cloudflare hosts the website and runs Turnstile, the spam check on the contact form. Turnstile receives your IP address and browser signals to decide whether a submission is automated.

An email delivery provider sends your inquiry to our team. It receives the inquiry details.

A team messaging provider carries an internal notification of each inquiry to a private channel used only by our team. It receives the inquiry details.

These providers process the information on our behalf and under their own terms. Some of them may process it outside your state or country.

Tracking and Do Not Track

We do not track your activity over time or across other websites, so the site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

The spam check on the contact page is run by Cloudflare. It receives the technical data described above when that page loads. We do not allow any other party to collect information about your activity on this website.

What we do not do

We do not sell inquiry details. We do not share them for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not disclose them to anyone other than the service providers described above, unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry details for 24 months after our last contact with you, and then delete them. If you become a client, records of the engagement are kept under the terms of that engagement. You can ask us to delete inquiry details sooner.

Your choices and requests

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to correct or delete it. We do not treat you differently for making a request.

To make a request, write to us by email at the address shown on our contact page, through the contact form, or by post at the address above. Say which request you are making.

California residents

This section is for California residents. It covers the information described in this notice and follows the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which also protects business contact information.

What we collected in the past 12 months. Identifiers: name, email address, phone number and IP address. Professional information: the firm or organization you name. Internet activity: browser and device information received by the spam check and by our hosting provider. The contents of the message you send us.

Where it comes from. Directly from you when you send the contact form, and automatically from your browser when you load the site.

Why we collect it. To reply to your inquiry, to assess whether an engagement is a fit, to keep a record of our correspondence, and to protect the form and the site from automated abuse.

Who receives it. In the past 12 months we disclosed each of these categories to service providers for those business purposes: our hosting and security provider, our email delivery provider, and our team messaging provider. We did not sell any of this information and did not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no sale or sharing to opt out of. We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of anyone under 16.

Sensitive personal information. We do not ask for it, and we do not use or disclose it to infer characteristics about anyone.

Your rights. You have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, including the categories, the sources, the purposes and the categories of recipients, and to receive a copy of it. You have the right to have inaccurate information corrected. You have the right to have it deleted, subject to the exceptions in the law. You have the right to equal treatment: we will not discriminate or retaliate against you for using these rights.

How we verify a request. We compare the name and email address in your request with the inquiry we hold, and we may reply to that email address to confirm the request came from you. We use what you send for verification only.

Authorized agents. Someone else may make a request for you if they send us your signed permission. We may ask you to confirm that permission with us directly.

Timing. We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need longer, we will tell you within those 45 days and may take up to 45 more.

We review this notice at least once every 12 months.

Security

The website is served only over an encrypted connection. Inquiry details are sent to our service providers over encrypted connections. No method of transmission is completely secure, so please do not put confidential client or case information in the form.

If this notice changes, we will post the new version on this page and update the date below. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will also tell you by email.
